Canned Seafood Delights: A Photography Project Featuring Tiny Fish Co., Scout Canning, and Fish Wife
As a photographer, I love the challenge of capturing the essence of a product through my lens. So when I was approached by Nesswell to photograph a taste test of three canned seafood brands, I was excited to experiment with different lighting and composition techniques. The brands we were shooting were Tiny Fish Co.'s Octopus in Butter with Lemon and Dill, Scout Canning's Atlantic Canadian Lobster, and Fish Wife's Smoked Albacore Tuna.
Tiny Fish Co.:
The first product we tried was Tiny Fish Co.'s Octopus in Butter with Lemon and Dill. The product came in a glass jar, and the octopus was cooked to perfection. I was immediately drawn to the delicate pink color of the octopus, and the buttery texture made it easy to position for the perfect shot. I experimented with different lighting setups to capture the subtle flavors of lemon and dill.
Scout Canning:
Next up was Scout Canning's Atlantic Canadian Lobster. The product was packed in a sleek metal can, and the vibrant orange color of the lobster meat immediately caught my eye. I played with different angles and backdrops to showcase the texture of the lobster meat, which was firm and succulent. The flavor was rich and buttery, and I could see why this brand has such a devoted following.
Fish Wife:
Finally, we tried Fish Wife's Smoked Albacore Tuna. The tuna was packed in a glass jar, and the smoky aroma immediately filled the room. The color of the tuna was a beautiful deep red, and the texture was firm and meaty. I played with different lighting setups to highlight the smoky flavor, which was complemented by a hint of sweetness.
